Bitter Today Welcome SW

Ahh just finished a cinnamon roll from panera bead (Not too sweat kinda crunchy with a nice layer of sugar on top) with a full city Columbia from Dun Bros(Nice middle of the road coffee with a real smooth aftertaste).. I eat because I'm unhappy I am unhappy because I eat you know the rest.. But I need to vent today.. My wife likes to ask me opinions on what things we should do with this house and then when I give my opinion she ignores me and does what she wants anyway..(Which I really don't care but why did you ask my opinion when you could care less. Anyway she decided that we should repaint my eldest's room to make it an older kids room and ignore the 4 other rooms in the house that really need painting.. Well if that didn't get me going the fact room contained a wallpaper border which I said I would not help with if she wanted to put it up.. (I ended up putting it up as well) But I absolutely would not be the one to take in down because I know what a nightmare that will be.. Well watching her struggle for two straight days I was persuaded to help her with it.. I won't get into to much detail but a steamer was rented and wasn't really used until 9:00(after playing hoops for two hours) last night and again at 6:00 this morning.. Now that my hands are sufficiently burned and I am quite bitter she believes the drywall is destroyed enough for me to begin patching the entire room where the wallpaper and scrapping has left holes on every square inch of the room.. MMM this will be the last time we put up any wallpaper (or at least until my wife thinks she likes it again).

I proved again last night that I do not have any Basketball ability.. I did not make a shot in 2 hours of play and maybe got a rebound a game.. I am the white round bald version of Olowakandi. Seriously I disgust myself.. I think I am going to have to start playing tennis or something that doesn't make me look completely old and non afletic that is going to be tough..

The Twins lost but the still played well. I think this team is going to be solid for a few years.. I hate to say this but Justing M. is starting to grow on me It is nice to have a couple of guys on the team where if you make a mistake the ball is gone..

I really need topics for my Thursday rant..

I think I will do a Twolves ramble this afternoon or Friday.. I am going to have to defer to a couple of great basketball minds.. BS and SW (Shoots better than the Wolves) "a close personal friend and former standout basketball player out of Hamline" Holler if you hate NBA but I am going to post a few articles of interest if BS and SW recommend them..
Hey that angry basketball guy that works for ESPN with his own show... Does he ever post the transcripts of the show.. He talked about KG for quite awhile last night.. Help me out BS or SW.

Don't hate the food hate the weight..

Not sure I am worthy of your high praise - or it more of a low standard set by our beloved Tpups. I will see what I can come up for you.

Shame on you for being bitter about your wife trying to make your kids happy.

In a few years you'll forget the game you could have watched, pizza you could have eaten, internet you could have browsed instead of working on removing wallpaper.

But your kid will remember (probably the rest of his life) how great a surprise it was to have a newly painted room.

He and the other kids will carry the act of kindness and pleasant surprises for years and hopefully generations to come.

A great tradition will have begun or been reinforced from a small price to pay of bitterness.

I think this latest twolves event (McCants' knee surgery) is just another sign that the franchise is cursed. Some of it has been brought on by their own doings (JSmith debacle, letting Billups go, draft blunders, etc...), but there has also been some injuries that have hindered our progress and held us hostage either because we decided to wait on them or because of salary implications (Brandon, MWilliams, Cassell in the playoffs, THUD, and probably some others). McCants might not be a star yet, but he was supposed to be a piece of the puzzle this year, either as a contributing member of this team or as a trade piece to bring a "star" to play next to KG. Now we have to go into the draft looking for a replacement piece as I don't think we can expect McCants to contribute anything this year. If we just draft (doesn't really matter who, because rookies rarely make substantial impact) and do not get another scoring threat, we can expect another year similar to last years. That will mark the end of the Twovles/KG era.

BTW - I couldn't find anything from the Stephen A Smith show.

It does seem we are cursed. However, I say we have brought most if it upon ourselves (McHale). Horrible drafts and the Joe Smith fiasco have crippled this franchise. All teams have injuries. We are just lucky KG has been Stockton/Malone/Payton-like as far as not missing games.

Although you could argue Payton has not played in 2 full years.

The Twins are cursed, the Vikes are cursed, the Wolves are double cursed.

Also, what planet is anonymous on? Kids won't gloriously remember the day their room was painted, and hold a tradition of suprise room paintings for generations to come.

If you were to step in front of a truck tomorrow, the kid won't care what color his room is, just that you spent time with them...

preferably playing Xbox.

You have a point spending time with kids is always more important.

However, I think the kids will remember that a parent was thinking about them and surprising them with good things even when they weren't physically there.

Those are things kids will remember in the future, never to take a back seat to direct time spent with a parent.

Do you remember a pleasant surprise from your parents?

Roger who? It is getting fun to watch the Twins again. Why did it take 50 some games for T Ryan and Gardy to do something (mainly Batista and Castro)? Good story here on Liriano. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?columnist=stark_jayson&id=2497243
